Finding it hard to discover a new book to read? We at Nightingale have brainstormed together to create this list of interesting books for any reader.

  1. The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory – This historical fiction novel is set in the 1500’s and details the lives of Mary and Anne Boleyn, who later became the infamous Queen Anne. It is a great read, an easy book to get into and brings the reader into a very different world – a perfect escape.
  2. Daring Greatly by Brene Brown – This book explores what it means to be vulnerable through themes of work, meaningful connections and trust.   3. I’ll Be Gone in the Dark by Michelle McNamara – This book is for the true crime junkies out there. Written by the late true crime journalist Michelle McNamara, this book is the outcome of her pursuit of the truth about one of America’s most notorious killers – the Golden State Killer. Not for the faint of heart, but certainly an interesting read.
  4. Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain – This biography is full of cooking tips, restaurant secrets, and funny stories from Anthony Bourdain’s life told from his fascinating perspective. Guaranteed to be interesting for any reader, whether you’ve worked in a restaurant or just eaten in one.
  5. A Year in Provence by Peter Mayle – In this book, Peter Mayle recounts stories of his life after newly moving to a 200-year old farmhouse in Provence, France. The stories are both heartwarming and funny, and gives you a sense of what it is like to live in Provence. This is a very light read that you can pick up at any time.
