Caring for your Bras and Breast Forms

Proper care of your bras and breast forms is essential to maintaining their shape and function. Explore our expert tips to keep your items in top condition, ensuring maximum comfort and support.

Here are some useful tips for caring for your post-surgical bras and breast forms:

Post-Surgery Bras

Washing:

Before You Wash

  • Some bras are made from different materials with different care instructions. Always follow the care label on the bra.

Hand Wash – The Best Way to Care for Your Bras

  • Use delicate hand washing detergent and warm water.
  • Soak the bra for a few minutes and gently work the soap suds into the fabric.
  • Rinse thoroughly to remove all detergent traces to avoid skin irritation or yellowing.
  • Avoid wringing or twisting the bra to remove water.

Machine Wash

  • Wash bras in a lingerie wash bag to prevent tangling.
  • Most bras can be washed at 30°C using the delicate cycle. Do not use high temperatures as they can damage the bra’s structure (hooks and straps).
  • Use a mild, delicate detergent and avoid fabric softeners as they damage fibers.
  • Rinse well to remove all detergent traces.
  • Fasten the hooks and eyes to prevent snagging on other clothes.

Drying

  • Avoid using a dryer, radiator, or direct sunlight to dry bras, as heat damages the fabric and elastic.
  • Dry bras on a clothes horse or flat surface to maintain shape.

Storing:

Store them with care

  • Avoid folding padded cups into each other, as this can cause them to lose their shape.

Breast Forms

Washing:

Always follow the care instructions of the braeast forms. To keep your breast form in good condition, wash it daily with soap and water, and dry with a soft cloth or towel if you wear them regularly.

  1. Fill a basin or sink with warm water and a gentle soap or our recommended soft cleanser. Submerge the breast forms and gently clean them with a soft cloth or sponge. Be careful not to scrub too vigorously, as it may damage the silicone.
  2. Rinse the breast forms thoroughly under warm water to eliminate any soap residues.
  3. Pat the silicone breast forms dry with a soft towel. Avoid using heat to dry them, as this can damage the silicone. Let them air dry before reusing.

Storing:

  • Always keep your prosthesis in its original box, and avoid storing it in the bra pocket when you’re not wearing it.
