In honor of BC Seniors Week, which will run from June 6-12, 2021, we wanted to highlight the accessibility of our store locations.
Accessibility and discretion are widely discussed topics in the world these days. While it should not be something that people need to worry about before they leave the house, it unfortunately is. The anxiety of wondering, “Will my wheelchair fit through the doorways? Will there be a bathroom I can use that will fit my walker? Will everybody know what I’m purchasing?” can exhaust a person. In some cases, these questions create worries that are so extensive that people will choose to stay home instead of venturing out to do their shopping. Everybody should feel free to go about their daily errands without barriers being built up in front of them.
Nightingale Medical strives to make sure all of our clients feel at ease shopping with us. If you have ever had the chance to explore one of our Nightingale Medical locations, you already know just how special the experience is. From the moment you make your way through the door, you are our first priority. We promote a very discreet and comfortable environment for all of our clients. Whether you’re coming in to purchase compression stockings, your monthly Ostomy supplies or for a Mastectomy fitting, we make sure that your privacy is of the utmost importance.
Nightingale stores are level-entry, bright and open to promote accessibility for those with wheelchairs, scooters and walkers. Many of our stores have removed carpeting to make navigating the store in a wheelchair easier. Some of our sites have automatic doors for ease of entry into the location. Our restrooms are equipped with grab bars and are large enough to have a support person in to help if necessary.
Our fitting rooms are spacious, inviting, equipped with soft lighting and full-length mirrors. We like to differentiate ourselves from the big box stores that have their mirrors in the middle of their stores under terrible fluorescent lighting. Although we are a medical clinic, we work hard to create a space of elegance so it does not feel like one. If you are coming to visit one of our NSWOC clinics, you will be greeted by one of our wonderful nurses and led back to our clinical offices that are separate from the front of our stores. All of our fitting rooms and clinical spaces have seating available if a rest is needed during your appointment.
We offer our clients various ways to shop: phone, email, our website or in person. All our locations offer close proximity to parking, and curbside delivery to your vehicle. If you still prefer to forgo visiting one of our stores, we can arrange to deliver your order to you via courier. We are always ready and willing to make sure your shopping experience is tailored to what you need in order to be comfortable.
