June 26th is National Cancer Wellness Awareness Day as declared by Health Canada. 2020 welcomes the second official Cancer Wellness Awareness Day in Canada!
Cancer Wellness is defined as a "whole-person approach to wellness" by the West Island Cancer Wellness Centre. This enables the person that has been diagnosed with cancer to deal with the challenges that may present themselves, things like fatigue, quality of life and mental health. Or in other words, cancer wellness deals with the other factors that may come with a diagnosis, but not the cancer itself.
