Welcome to December! As we are quickly approaching winter, we thought it would be helpful to give everyone a quick reminder of habits to help keep you healthy throughout the cold season.

You Are What You Eat

Try to incorporate foods that will help keep your immune system strong and able to fight off flu season. Incorporate colourful fruits and veggies to get your servings of different vitamins. Add turmeric to soups, curries and oatmeal for anti-inflammatory benefits. Try to eat lots of Omega-3 (found in fish, seeds and nuts), as it is an anti-inflammatory. Get Moving

Gyms and indoor exercise classes may be closed due to COVID-19, but there are plenty of ways to get a workout in from home. Search ‘workout video’ on YouTube and you will find everything from yoga to high-intensity cardio to weight training – all that you can do in even a tiny space, and using only your body weight. Try to create an exercise plan each week so that it is incorporated into your routine. With all of the time we are spending sitting at home these days, you will actually start looking forward to the time in your day when you get to blast music or a TV show and raise your heart rate. Not to mention the mental health benefits that exercise causes – there are so many benefits, we have written multiple blogs on exercise alone!
